GravityMerge AI
What if every repeatable document your business produces could be generated automatically, from a form, in seconds, as an editable Word file?
That’s the idea behind GravityMerge AI, a new suite of plugins for WordPress and Gravity Forms that GravityMerge has just released. It builds on the GravityMerge Classic plugin line, which has been providing document automation for Gravity Forms for years, but takes things significantly further.
If you draft contracts, engagement letters, policies, proposals, or client reports with a similar structure each time, you’re doing work a machine should be doing for you. GravityMerge AI lets you build a form that collects the key details, link it to a Word template, and produce a polished .docx on submission, with conditional clauses, repeating sections, image insertion, and formatting preserved.
The merge engine uses clean, readable syntax. Conditional logic works across entire paragraphs and inline within sentences and paragraphs. And there’s an optional AI field type that can generate additional content as part of the merged document, using Anthropic’s Claude.
You can configure the plugin to deliver documents in whichever way suits your workflow: download link, user-entered email, or sent directly to the site admin.
For those handling confidential data, security and document retention matters. Security has been top of mind during plugin development, and GravityMerge AI gives you control over what happens to generated documents after delivery. You can save them to a document library for record-keeping, or configure automatic deletion, either immediately after the document is dispatched or after an interval you specify. No built documents sitting on your server longer than they need to. You can also limit form access to logged-in users and auto-delete form entries (using standard Gravity Forms functionality) and harden your WordPress install with the likes of WordFence, MFA, etc. And if you wanted to keep everything off the cloud, you could run the plugin on a desktop instance of WordPress using the likes of Local.
Other plugins in the GravityMerge AI suite
The suite also includes four companion plugins:
- GravityMerge AI Architect: AI analyses your existing document and generates a Gravity Forms form and a merge-tagged template. Cuts setup from hours to minutes.
- GravityMerge AI Template Designer: a visual editor for building and annotating templates inside WordPress. Click to insert merge tags, build conditions visually, manage a clause library.
- GravityMerge AI Template to Form: the reverse. Upload a template, and the plugin infers and creates the Gravity Forms form from the merge tags.
- GravityMerge AI Report Builder: uses Claude to generate complete narrative reports from form submissions. Not template merging — AI-written analysis, structured around your instructions, reference documents and the user’s form inputs. From structured data collection to AI-assisted output. Architect, Template Designer, and Template to Form are built to work alongside GravityMerge AI. Report Builder is free-standing and does not require the core plugin.
If you work at the intersection of law and WordPress, or in any field where you produce repeatable documents, this is worth a look. Contracts, engagement letters, policies, privacy impact assessments, client reports, proposals, or anything else with a consistent structure is a candidate for automation.
